Family insurance that’s free of cost
Your family is also welcome at BERGISCHE Health Insurance. Free inclusion on your insurance is available for all family members if they are not insured themselves and are living in Germany most of the time.
Spouses
You are entitled to non-contributory family insurance coverage for your spouse if
- the income does not exceed the monthly marginal income limit
- their residence is in Germany,
- he/she is not self-employed on a full-time basis.
Children
It goes without saying that your children are entitled to family insurance:
- until the age of 18
- until the age of 23 if they are not employed
- until the age of 25, if they are still in school or studying at university, or are doing a voluntary social year without pay.
